Trish, know that Dick and I will truly miss Bob. He was so much fun and we had such a good time with the two of you when we ate at Napper Tandy’s that time. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you. You and the family are in our thoughts and prayers!

As a member of the North Carolina Garden Railroad Society, I wish to extend my sympathy to all of Bob’s family. Please know that our club members and his many friends will surely miss him. May all of you have Peace!

  3. I will really miss Bob and enjoyed all of our conversations about trains, cars and just having fun. I truly wish I had gotten my 1971 Opel GT finished so he could go for a ride in it. When I get it finished I’ll take a copy of the picture of him in the kilt with me for the test ride. I know he will be there in spirit and he better not make me get a ticket! Trish, you are welcome to come along too. Bob may not be here phisically but he will always be remembered and stay close in our hearts. So long Bob and we will see ya later on at the great railroad in the sky ….
    Dick

After Bob and Trish bought their travel trailer, along with a membership at The Club Resort at Lake Gaston, we had the pleasure of camping with them on an adjacent campsite and thoroughly enjoyed the fun. Boy, did Bob love his ice cream!!! We thoroughly enjoyed knowing them thru the NCGRS model train club and as fellow campers as well. Bob truly was able to live his dream, of becoming a locomotive engineer!!!!! Our prayers are with Trish and their family.

I had the honor of knowing Bob at the Neuse River Valley Model Train Club in Raleigh. We were awed to learn Bob had been a “real” train engineer. Bob was not boastful, but if you led into it right, you could get Bob to tell of some true (sometime scary, but mostly funny) happenings of his 30 odd years on the rails. Bob had a wonderful joy of life as evidenced by his sense of humor, especially with details of camping experiences with his non too enthusiastic (but beloved) cats! If you’ve ever seen a kid in a candy store, then that is the image of Bob at the TCA sale (or our own NRV show and sale) looking at the many train offerings. Tricia, I don’t know if there are trains in heaven but I do hope so for Bob’s sake.

Tricia, Please know that we will miss Bob and how much we enjoyed knowing you both at the Wilson Moose Lodge. You both are special people that have “fought the good fight” but he has laid down his arms and gone to a place with no pain.
And “Relay for Life” is coming and you know I always need your help.
We will all miss him! But I hope you continue to know that your friends are here and all you have to do is say what you need and we will try our best to help.

Although I never met Bob, i feel as though I knew him. My close friend
Robert Middour has shared the trials and joys of the last few years.
I know he cherished the friendship shared. Tricia you were blessed with
a wonderful “train guy”(and more). I know you will miss him as will his
friends. My prayers are with you and your family.

In the medical field, we’re not supposed to have our favorite patients…but we do. And Mr. Maxwell was one of mine. He reminded me of my uncle Ed. He loved cats. And he always brought me news clippings…regarding my car or a random drug story. He will be so very greatly missed. Trish, I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. He was such a fighter and it always saddens me when we loose another from this dreaded disease. May memories of his smiling face and infectious laughter provide you comfort through this hard time. It was an honor to care for him.

Kathy, we are so sorry about your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Our family has been blessed by growing op next door to yours. It is so comforting even today to know what great neighbors my parents have next door(your parents). I am sorry we will not be able to attend the visitation on Tuesday, for I will be a Duke having scans and evaluations done, but all and all i am doing well.

God bless you, Lois and Fred
